HOW TO USE THE DEMO SOFTWARE

Once you have installed the Posture Pro demo version on your computer it will allow you to view and play with some of its features.

Here are my suggestions for getting to know the software in the shortest possible time:

1) On the opening page click on the “Start Program” button without changing any of the numbers – these will be given to you when you purchase the software.

2)The software will tell you it is in demo mode and open on the Posture Pro desktop.

3) I suggest you scroll down the “reference modules” list and open the PP8 Instruction Manual. This is in PDF format. You can then review and learn about all the Posture Pro features.

4) To do a test postural analysis follow these simple steps:

a) Click on “Add a Record” button. Then type in a sample patient name and ID number. Click on the “Create” button.

b) Click on the “Posture Analysis” button. This will open up the analysis desk top.

c) Click on the “Import AP” button. This will take you to a directory with a file called “AP.JPG file”. Select this file and the AP photo should appear on your desktop.

d) Click on the “Import Lat” button. This will take you to a directory with a file called “Lat.JPG file”. Select this file and the Lateral photo should appear on the right side of your desktop.

e) To analyse the AP image: Click on the face of the man image at the top left of your screen. This will take you to a close up shot of the AP head region. Move your cursor over the red marker on the left side of the image (right side of their head) till you have targeted the centre of the red dot. Click on this point then move across to the second red marker on the right and repeat. A connecting line should appear between the two markers.

f) Repeat these steps for the shoulders, hips, knees and ankles by clicking on the corresponding area on the small man image.

g) Now click on the “Use AP Connected Line” button. Aim and click your cursor four points - at the bridge of the nose, the episternal notch, the umbilicus, and midway between the medial malleoli. A connecting line will appear between all the points selected.

h) Click on the “Get Posture Number”, then aim and click on the following five points (all indicated by red markers) on the lateral shot: EAM, centre of shoulder joint, greater trochanter, centre of knee joint, just anterior to the lateral malleolus.

i) Click on save, and the software will open the report to be viewed.

Congratulations, you have just completed your first postural analysis. Once proficient it will take you only 5 minutes from taking photo through to completing the analysis, to produce a full-colour, objective and visually powerful patient education and outcome tool.
