ABOUT Dr NICK HODGSON, B.App.Sc.(Chiropractic)

Dr Nick Hodgson has been responsible for introducing Torque Release Technique to the Australian Chiropractic profession and has been personally mentored by Dr Jay Holder, the developer of TRT. Nick is the Australasian provider of Torque Release Training. Nick is a 1990 graduate of the Phillip Institute of Technology (now RMIT) where he received the academic award for Chiropractic Science. Nick has been recognised by both the CAA(Vic) and RMIT Alumni for his contributions and service to the chiropractic profession, most recently as 2005 VICTORIAN CHIROPRACTOR OF THE YEAR. He practiced full-time in Ocean Grove for eighteen years, is now practicing in Belmont, Geelong, and is one of Australia's most experienced TRT practitioners. Nick is a Fellow of the Holder Research Institute (F.H.R.I.), and has completed five of the ten modules of the Certified Addictionologist (CAd) program.

ABOUT Dr JAY HOLDER, D.C., C.Ad., D.A.C.A.C.D.

      Doctor of Chiropractic, Certified Addictionologist, Director American College of Addictionology and Compulsive Disorders, President Holder Research Institute.

      Director and Founder of Exodus Treatment Centre, a 350 bed addiction facility located in Miami, Florida. Director and Founder of Exodus Israel Addiction and Research Centre, Jerusalem, Israel.

      The 1993 United States Senate compared Dr Holder's Success in research to Michael Jordan's performance in basketball.

      Dr Holder’s work was recently featured on a Discovery Health Channel documentary.

      First American Physician to receive the Albert Schweitzer Prize in Medicine which was given to him during the 23rd World Medical Congress in Malaga, Spain; 1992 Florida Chiropractic Association Chiropractor of the Year; 1995 Florida Chiropractic Society Chiropractic Researcher of the Year.

      Adjunct Professor, St. Martin's College, Milwaukee; held appointment to the faculty at the University of Miami, Centre for Addiction Studies and Education, and held appointment as post graduate faculty at numerous chiropractic colleges including National College, Life College, Life West and Parker College. Executive Board Member and Treasurer of the Council on Chiropractic Practice.

      President/Co-Founder of the American College of Addictionology and Compulsive Disorders, which trains and board certifies professionals in the field of addiction worldwide and being offered in Australia for the first time in 2003.

      At the age of 14, Dr Holder began his experience in research in neurotoxins at the University of Miami School of Medicine.

      Dr Holder is presently developing the efficacy of reduction of chiropractic subluxations in addiction treatment and is expanding The Brain Reward Cascade and Reward Deficiency Syndrome (RDS) model which supports the vertebral subluxation complex concept.

      Author of two books, edited in several others, author of many scientific papers and research studies, and inventor of medical, acupuncture and chiropractic devices.

      Lectures worldwide and is in private practice in Miami Beach, Florida, since 1977.

      Dr Holder also has further first-hand experience with drug addiction, having been a chief of staff in Miami’s police force, being instrumental in the establishment of “Miami Vice”.
